I've always believed that in order to finish rich, you must also live rich. In my books, I outline how important giving back is to living a full life.
Many of you may already know that I am actively involved with Habitat for Humanity- NYC. I currently serve as a member of the board and believe very strongly in their efforts to develop green building capacity which will enable the creation of healthier, sustainable homes. There have been a variety of projects around the NYC area that have become homes to so many.
I have had the privilege of hearing, first hand, many heartwarming stories about the great impact Habitat- NYC has had on families. With this in mind, I invite you to attend the 8th Annual Builder Awards Gala on November 7th- here in NYC. Please know that your generosity and thoughts are greatly appreciated. Click here for more information.
I have helped to co-found an amazing organization, Makers of Memories (MOM), with two great friends of mine. MOM is dedicated to providing dream vacations for mothers and their children who have been the victims of domestic violence. A vacation allows these families the ability to create memories that will last a lifetime and transform their lives, forever.
In August, I went on a Carnival cruise with twenty-five mothers and their children. I was able to spend time with these truly outstanding women and commend them for being so strong.
MOM's first charity fund raising event takes place Wed., October 24th in New York City. I have personally put up a $25,000 Challenge Grant for this inaugural event.

A couple of weeks ago, I invited readers to take part in my 401(k) savings challenge, and promised to keep the momentum going with more articles about making the most of your retirement plans.
One of the topics many of you wanted to learn more about is how to make smart rollover decisions when changing jobs. Well, you're not alone. According to consultant Deloitte's most recent 401(k) Benchmarking Survey, 22 percent of employers surveyed revealed that their employees find rollovers to be the most confusing part of their retirement plan.
"Rollover" is the term used to describe moving money from one type of tax-advantaged account, like your 401(k) plan, to another, such as an individual retirement account (IRA) or a different 401(k) plan at your next job.
Click here to find how what the top five 401 (k) mistakes people make when changing jobs.
