Hope You're Having a Great Summer!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you’re enjoying your summer. As I wrote in the acknowledgements of my last book The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner, I’ve been taking most of the summer off to enjoy time at the beach with my wife, Michelle and son, Jack. It’s been the perfect time to slow down the pace a bit, spend quality time with family and friends and have a little fun – in other words, to live rich. I hope you’re doing the same!

I’ve posted some great new articles on my Yahoo! column recently which I’ve shared with you below and to find out how you can be part of my team in our upcoming Habitat for Humanity project scroll down to see our contest announcement. Join us in helping to make a difference!

Five Steps to Getting a Bigger Raise

Short of winning the lottery, nothing can change your finances as fast as getting a raise. And sometimes changing your life is as simple as changing your mind about what's possible. Ask a new question, take a new approach, and you may very well get a new result.

So ask yourself this: What would it take for me to get a bigger raise this year?

Not everyone has control over getting a raise, of course -- government workers and union or contract-based employees with fixed salaries, for example. Everyone else, though, should keep reading.

Four Tips for Vacations that Cost Less and Give More

According to nonprofit consumer education organization the Myvesta Foundation, the average American planned to spend $2,249 on his or her summer vacation last year. Taking the average family of four to the archetypical American vacation spot -- Disney World -- can cost $3,000 to $4,000 or more by the time you figure in the cost for flights, food, lodging, and all the goodies.

Now, I love theme parks or pure relaxation as much as the next person. But this year, I'd like you to consider doing something a little different: Take a volunteer vacation.

Help Team FinishRich Make a Difference

When The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner launched in March, I committed a total of $170,000 to Habitat for Humanity through donations and proceeds from the sale of the book. Your support for this book has helped a truly amazing cause and I thank you for that.

Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped build more than 200,000 homes in upward of 100 countries around the world - sheltering more than 1 million people in some 3,000 communities worldwide. In the US, Habitat for Humanity builds or renovates homes, then helps low-income families buy them with no-interest loans and modest down payments.

If you haven’t yet read The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner, get inspired to make homeownership your path to financial freedom and support a worthy cause at the same time by purchasing your copy here.

As part of our commitment to help others become financially secure through homeownership, my team and I will also be volunteering our time with Habitat for Humanity NYC on Saturday, September 16th to help restore a five story, multi-unit apartment building in New York City. This building is located in The Bronx and will provide homes for eight families.
