Unfortunately my husband and I had to take bankruptcy November of 2005 due to illness and my losing my job of 25 years. Don't fret, it's a fairy tale story. For the past 10 years, my husband (Patrick) and I had been running a part-time cleaning business but couldn't commit to it completely as we both had day jobs. The picture I uploaded is one of the houses we provided construction cleaning for. Losing my job (I made a higher salary than Patrick), forced Pat and I to start running our business full-time. It was an overnite success! We have been working very hard to make it successful and in the very first year, (full-time) it has already turned over a profit for 2006! We were forced out of jobs that we absolutely hated and we became business owners that love what we do. I am thankful for every single day.
I saw you working on "The Debt Diet" on Oprah July of 2006. David, I can't tell you how much you have changed my life. You have saved my life, literally! I have bought your books, I am working your plan, and for the first time in my life Patrick and I both have a savings account that is starting to grow. Now I'm starting to learn what to do with the money. We're working on our emergency basket. I am so glad you decided to go global! I have everyone I meet running out to buy your books. I'm just so excited about my future.
I was embarrassed of myself. Taking bankruptcy was very embarrassing and I was humiliated to the point I felt worthless. But what would have been worse and truely sinful is if I had continuted to live the same lifestyle that put me into a state of bankruptcy in the first place. I knew I had to change and you have helped to make me into a different woman. I have learned from my mistakes, but I am learning more and more everyday how to live my life by the good advice and guidance you have given to both of us and I know I will grow and prosper both financially and spiritually. David, I totally get you!!!!! You are wonderful. I listen to your cd's anytime I have to work in my office and I am putting your advice to work. I will let you know in the future just how well we have done (we are still just beginning). I am 49 years old and my husband is 39, but I now know it's not too late. It's never too late to start late & finish rich! Thanks to you, I have a better life to look forward to. Soon I should be able to sleep better at night. Thank you David from the bottom of my heart!
